Katherine holds an MA in Journalism and Public Affairs from American University. She has written news and cultural broadcast for Voice of America, covered international intelligence and national security issues for United Press International and worked as a research assistant for the D.C. bureau of The Wall Street Journal.
She earned her BA from Marlboro College in Vermont, where she graduated magna cum laude and double majored in history and writing. She received highest honors for her undergraduate thesis on American foreign policy in Afghanistan and its impact on Afghan refugees in the United States.
